Eggs are an important source of nutrition. They contain eighteen essential vitamins and minerals and provide the highest quality protein of all foods.
However keeping up with the family's busy schedule and making good nutrition and healthy eating a priority is a challenge, so the team at Aussie Pride Eggs have included the Dietary Intake (%DI) and the Recommended Dietary Intake (%RDI) thumbnails on our packs to make it even easier for you to know what valuable nutrients you are getting when you start the day the Aussie Pride way!
The RDI and DI index is a voluntary labeling scheme that has been taken up by a number of manufacturers and fast food chains so that you can make a more informed decision about what's good for you and your family!

But what do we really mean by %DI and %RDI and what exactly do the thumbnails on our packs measure?
Recommended Dietary Intake (%RDI) - is the average daily dietary intake level that is sufficient to meet the nutrient requirements of nearly all healthy individuals in a particular life stage and gender group.
Dietary Intake (%DI) - is the dietary intake level of a nutrient that is found in the food you consume and the percentage it contributes to a persons overall daily dietary requirements.
Based on an average adult diet of 8700kJ, (daily requirement for an average adult) the DI panel shows you what nutrients you get from eating two eggs a day and the percentage (%) it contributes to your daily diet.
